What's the most upsetting is that he can't surf. The water is too cold for him to even step foot into it, and that's why he's just sitting on the beach at the water's edge, arms wrapped around his knees while he stares out at the waves. The water always makes him feel better, and he can't even do that right now.

He isn't sure why he's so upset. It hasn't even been two months, and to his knowledge they weren't even serious, but it's never fun to be dumped. Maybe it's because he was just starting to fall for Les, and because he's not the only one hurt. April is probably with Les right now while he sits here, and he feels like it's all his fault that she's going to get hurt as well. Maybe if he had just kept his mouth shut they would be together right now.

He's also a little pissed off, because who dumps someone right before Christmas? Now Caden feels like the holiday is ruined, after he stayed in Siren Cove instead of going home to be with his family so that he could spend it with Les and April instead.

But now he's just sitting here with his ass in the sand, full on moping. Merry Christmas.

Caden isn't sure what to do, but he doesn't want to be alone. He doesn't want April to be alone.

He isn't sure where he stands with her now, or what is going to happen between them now that Les is out of the picture, but Caden cares for her deeply. It kills him to know that she's upset and probably doing her best not to show it, knowing her. He has no idea if April will want to see him, but he has to try. Whatever she wants, he'll obviously respect that, but he'll have to give her the chance to tell him.

Should be bring anything? That would probably be stupid. Sorry we got dumped, here's some flowers? He stands in the middle of his living room for a moment before going over to his liquor cabinet and grabbing a nice bottle of scotch. They could probably use that, at least.

He takes a cab over to April's and bites his lip as he knocks on the door. He's sad, hurt, and a little pissed, but April meant more to Les. He meant more to her. Caden wants to be there for April in whatever she needs, whether is someone to commiserate with, or drink with, or vent to. He can do any and all of those things.

But he needs her, and he just hopes she doesn't turn him away. She opens the door and Caden gives her a wry smile, holding up the scotch with a shrug. "I'm not sure what the protocol here is, but I thought booze was a given. Want some company?"
